The student is taught basic shaping and finishing on a range of coats. We teach the different uses for straight edged blades and how to use thinning scissors correctly.
We provide all scissors and a range of correctly prepared dogs.
Only two students per course to ensure maximum learning for each learner.

We focus on scissoring the fluff-dried coat, finishing feathering to a high standard, and extensive use of thinning scissors.
We demonstrate a complete trim on a wire-haired terrier ie a Border Terrier or similar breed using thinning shears to achieve a natural and stylish finish as a fast and less expensive alternative to hand stripping.
