Grooming is vitally important to the health and well-being of all dogs no matter how big or small nor which breed it is. Apart from turning out beautifully trimmed dogs, the professional groomer can find external health problems and occasionally save an animal's life. The physical pleasure grooming gives benefits both dog and owner and is extremely important for the bonding process. Watch any wildlife programme and you will see that wild animals spend hours grooming each other. The fact that dogs are now highly domesticated doesn't mean that grooming no longer matters.

At Callington Dog and Cat Grooming Services we pride ourselves on grooming all breeds (and cross breeds) to the highest standards. All of our staff are trained by the proprietor and we are continually improving our staff training. All the animals groomed in our salon are treated kindly and humanely and we make a visit to our salon for them like a visit to the beauty salon should be for us humans. We are regular competitors at dog shows and grooming competitions so we keep very up-to-date with the new trims and styles-dog's hairstyles change as regularly as ours do!!!

We will be regularly up-dating this page with photos of the dogs we trim so you can judge our work for yourself. Occasionally we will show before and after images of dogs with badly neglected coats and how they look after we have groomed them. It should be noted at this point that we will not put any animal through discomfort for the sake of appearance and badly matted coats will always be painlessly removed by shaving. The client will then be strongly advised to adopt a regular grooming routine.
